Job Title: HMI Application Engineer (Remote – Raleigh, NC)

We are looking for an HMI Application Engineer to join one of our client’s growing teams in the Raleigh, NC area!
This is a direct hire opportunity with a well-established wastewater machine builder and integrator, offering a fully remote role with 25% regional travel. This engineer will be responsible for programming and integrating HMI/SCADA systems from the ground up, supporting customers through the full project lifecycle, and providing post-installation troubleshooting.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design, develop, and implement HMI/SCADA systems based on customer requirements and project specifications

• Program HMI systems from scratch and ensure seamless integration with existing controls and PLC infrastructure

• Lead project execution including documentation, system design, customer communication, and milestone tracking

• Interpret and apply technical specifications and design documents

• Provide remote troubleshooting support to customers to resolve control system and software issues

• Travel to customer sites (approximately 25%) for commissioning, training, and support

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams including project managers, controls engineers, and customer stakeholders

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical field

• 3+ years of experience in HMI/SCADA development and integration

• Strong working knowledge of HMI platforms (e.g., Wonderware, Ignition, GE iFIX, or similar)

• Experience working with SCADA systems and understanding of control system architecture

• Proven experience managing projects to meet deadlines and technical requirements

• Excellent troubleshooting skills, especially in remote/virtual environments

• Strong communication and organizational abilities

• Experience in the water/wastewater industry preferred, but not required
