Position: Registered Nurse – Emergency Department
Location: Baylor Scott & White Health, Texas
Shift: 12-Hour Days | 07:00 AM – 07:00 PM
Employment Type: Full-Time | Permanent
 

Role Summary:

The Emergency Department RN is responsible for delivering high-quality, compassionate, and timely care to patients in a fast-paced ED setting. This includes patient assessment, critical triage, care planning, treatment delivery, and collaboration with multidisciplinary teams, as outlined in the Texas Nursing Practice Act.

Key Responsibilities:

• Conduct clinical assessments and prioritize patient/family needs
• Create, implement, and revise individualized care plans
• Administer medications and interventions per protocol
• Triage patients in urgent/emergency scenarios
• Educate patients and families on treatment and discharge planning
• Delegate tasks safely and follow up on care completion
• Maintain accurate documentation in EMR
• Ensure compliance with safety, ethics, and privacy standards
• Collaborate with physicians, techs, and community resources
• Participate in quality improvement and peer mentoring

Required Qualifications:

• Graduate of an accredited Nursing program
• Active Texas RN license
• BLS certification (required within 30 days of hire)

Preferred Skills & Traits:

• Strong clinical judgment and rapid decision-making in emergencies
• Knowledge of ED protocols, trauma care, and medication management
• Effective communication and teamwork under pressure
• Excellent problem-solving and critical thinking abilities
• Basic computer proficiency (EMR, MS Office, scheduling, etc.)
