Job Description:
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Neurology Medical Assistant to join our dynamic healthcare team. The ideal candidate will provide clinical and administrative support in a fast-paced environment, assisting our neurologists with patient care, documentation, and office operations. This is an excellent opportunity to work alongside a skilled team of healthcare professionals and contribute to delivering quality care to our patients.
Key Responsibilities:
Assist in preparing patients for neurological exams and procedures, including taking medical histories, vital signs, and documenting information in patient charts.
Perform routine administrative tasks, including scheduling patient appointments, answering phones, and managing patient inquiries.
Support the neurologists during patient examinations, procedures, and treatments.
Collect and prepare diagnostic samples (e.g., blood, urine) and perform basic lab tests.
Ensure that patient records are accurately maintained and updated in electronic medical records (EMR) systems.
Provide patient education on neurological conditions, treatments, and post-care instructions.
Assist in coordinating patient referrals, follow-up appointments, and other related tasks.
Maintain a clean and organized workspace, adhering to safety and hygiene protocols.
Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent required; completion of a medical assistant program preferred.
Certification as a Medical Assistant
Previous experience in a medical setting, preferably within neurology, is preferred but not required.
Knowledge of medical terminology, basic medical procedures, and patient care.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a strong ability to work collaboratively with patients, physicians, and staff.
Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
Ability to multitask and manage time effectively in a busy environment.
Proficiency with EMR systems and basic office software.
Physical Requirements:
Ability to stand, bend, and move for extended periods.
Occasional lifting and transporting of medical supplies or equipment.
