Job Description
Senior Maintenance Technician – Amped Kitchens—L.A. South
At Amped, we’re changing the way food businesses scale. We operate production-focused kitchen campuses for food companies that are outgrowing shared kitchens but not ready to build their own facilities. Our clients include CPG brands, multi-unit restaurants, meal subscription companies, and caterers producing at scale. With nearly 200 food production spaces across L.A. and Chicago—and more on the way—we provide the infrastructure, support, and services that let great food businesses grow fast, with less risk.
The Role
We’re looking for a Senior Maintenance Technician to serve as the on-the-ground Facilities Lead at our L.A. South location. This is a working leadership role—not a desk job. You’ll be the most experienced tech onsite and the go-to person when something leaks, jams, fails, or needs a better fix.
You’ll lead by doing—working side-by-side with our team, mentoring junior staff, and making sure urgent issues are handled fast and right. You’ll also coordinate contractors, support client move-ins and upgrades, and help improve facility processes in partnership with the General Manager and our L.A.-based Director of Ops.
What You’ll Do
- Be the Fixer: Diagnose and repair plumbing, electrical, and HVAC issues. Know when to bring in a vendor—and how to supervise their work.
- Lead the Team: Guide our 4–5 person maintenance and sanitation crew. Prioritize tasks, jump in as needed, and make sure nothing slips.
- Support Our Clients: Use our internal ticketing system to respond to facility issues. Communicate with clients and follow up to confirm resolution.
- Manage Upgrades: Help scope tenant improvements, coordinate bids, and oversee contractor work on minor build-outs and equipment installs.
- Keep It Clean and Safe: Ensure common areas—dishrooms, docks, hallways—are clean, food-safe, and inspection-ready.
- Coach and Train: Help onboard new clients and coach them on how to operate safely, comply with cleanliness standards, and use the space efficiently.
- Stay On Top of the Details: Maintain parts and tool inventory, keep records updated, and collaborate with the larger team to stay ahead of problems.
Who You Are
- 5+ years of hands-on facilities, construction or building maintenance experience (bonus if in food production or warehouse settings)
- Solid skills across plumbing, basic electrical, HVAC, and light construction. Certifications a plus.
- Familiarity with GMPs or food-safe environments a plus
- Experience reading building plans/specs and coordinating contractors
- Organized and comfortable using work order systems and Microsoft tools (AppFolio is a plus)
- Cool under pressure and good with people—especially in fast-paced environments
- Spanish proficiency is a plus
- ServSafe Manager certification required prior to start (we’ll help you get it if needed)
Compensation
$73,000–$82,000/year depending on experience.

Please send us your resume along with responses to these three questions:
- How has your career prepared you for this role?
