About the Role:

Leroy Surveyors and Engineers, based in Puyallup, WA, is seeking a skilled and motivated Survey Crew Chief to lead field survey operations on a variety of projects, including land development, construction layout, and infrastructure design. Responsibilities:

• Lead a survey field crew on boundary, topographic, ALTA, construction staking, and as-built surveys
• Operate and maintain GPS, robotic total stations, levels, and data collectors
• Interpret engineering and construction plans for accurate layout and data collection
• Record detailed and organized field notes and documentation
• Communicate effectively with project managers, engineers, and office staff
• Ensure fieldwork is completed safely, efficiently, and to high-quality standards
• Mentor and guide junior crew members

Requirements:

• 3+ years of land surveying experience, with at least 1 year as a crew chief
• Proficient with Trimble, Leica, or equivalent survey equipment and data collectors
• Strong understanding of surveying methods, construction layout, and legal boundaries
• Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record
• Willingness to work outdoors in all weather conditions

Preferred Qualifications:

• LSIT certification or progress toward licensure
• Familiarity with Trimble Business Center and Civil 3D
• Construction layout and public infrastructure experience
