Position Overview:

Our client, a leader in sustainability and environmental services, is seeking two harps Technicians to support our onsite program at University Health Systems in San Antonio. This hospital-based role involves handling sharps and pharmaceutical waste safely and efficiently while maintaining regulatory compliance and excellent customer service.

Key Responsibilities:

• Waste Collection & Transport: Safely collect, label, and transport sharps and pharmaceutical waste across hospital towers.

• Facility Coverage: Walk 10–12 miles daily to maintain routes and provide full service throughout the facility.

• Regulatory Compliance: Ensure waste segregation and container labeling per EPA, OSHA, DOT, and ISO 14001/9001 standards.

• Safety & Teamwork: Follow PPE guidelines, maintain clean work areas, and provide support to junior team members when needed.

• Customer Support: Deliver excellent customer service and identify efficiency or cost-saving opportunities.

✅ Requirements:

• Education: High School Diploma or GED required; Associate’s degree preferred.

• Experience: 2+ years of relevant experience preferred.

• Licenses: Valid Texas Driver’s License and consistent reliable personal transportation required (no rideshare, public transit, or state ID).

• Certificates, Licenses, Registrations or Other Requirements: 24-hour HAZWOPER preferred.

• Vaccinations: Must provide proof of the following immunizations or complete them after background clearance:

  • COVID-19 (Primary Series) – Documentation required; booster encouraged

  • MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella) – Vaccine or positive titer accepted

  • Flu (Current Season) – Vaccine only

  • Tetanus (TDAP) – Vaccine only

  • TB (T-SPot test only) – Must complete T-SPot blood test

  • Hepatitis A & B – Vaccine only

  • Varicella (Chickenpox) – Vaccine or positive titer accepted

• Physical Requirements: Must lift up to 50 lbs and work in physically demanding conditions, including hospital environments and inclement weather.
