Job Summary:

The Assistant Estimator will support the estimating department in preparing accurate and competitive cost estimates for commercial construction projects. This role involves working closely with senior estimators to analyze project documents, conduct take-offs, and assist in bid preparation. The ideal candidate will possess strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and a passion for the construction industry.

Key Responsibilities:

- Assist in the preparation of accurate cost estimates for various commercial construction projects, including detailed quantity take-offs and material price checks.

- Collaborate with the estimating team to review project plans and specifications, identifying potential issues and cost-saving opportunities.

- Research and gather pricing data from vendors and subcontractors to ensure competitive bids.

- Maintain and update estimating databases, including labor rates, material costs, and historical data.

- Assist in the preparation of bid proposals and submission documents.

- Attend pre-bid meetings and site visits to gain a thorough understanding of project scope and requirements.

- Support the office team with administrative tasks, including organizing and filing bid documents and drawings.

- Develop and maintain positive relationships with subcontractors, suppliers, and clients.

- Stay current on industry trends, materials, and construction methods.
