Banquet Cook - Key Responsibilities

As a Banquet Cook at our Chicago Marriott Northwest in Hoffman Estates, you will play a crucial role in creating a memorable first impression for our guests. Your engaging personality and exceptional customer service skills will contribute to our goal of providing guests with an unforgettable experience. Your key responsibilities will include:

Food Preparation:

• Washing, chopping, and preparing ingredients.
• Following recipes and cooking instructions.
• Preparing sauces and garnishes.
• Ensuring freshness and quality of ingredients.

Cooking:

• Grilling, frying, sautéing, baking, and steaming food items.
• Cooking food to specified standards and temperatures.

Kitchen Maintenance:

• Maintaining a clean and organized work area.
• Cleaning equipment, utensils, and dishes.
• Ensuring adherence to food safety and sanitation standards.

Other Duties:

• Assisting other kitchen staff, including sous chefs and head chefs.
• Stocking and setting up kitchen stations.
• Plating dishes for service.
• May be responsible for inventory management and waste disposal.

Banquet Cook Qualifications:

• Completion of vocational school or a two-year associate degree or equal working experience
• At least 4 year of cooking experience
• Excellent kitchen administration knowledge and ability to work as part of a team
• Strong organization and active listening skills
• The ability to work on your feet for most of the day and lift 30 pounds at a time
• Exceptional time management skills
