Job Title: Automotive Finance & Insurance (F&I) Manager
Reports To: General Manager / Sales Manager
Department: Sales & Finance
Job Type: Full-Time
Job Summary:
The F&I Manager is responsible for helping customers obtain financing for their vehicle purchases and offering aftermarket products to enhance their ownership experience. This role requires excellent sales, customer service, and compliance skills, ensuring all financial transactions meet federal, state, and dealership standards.
Key Responsibilities:
Customer Interaction:
Present finance and insurance options to customers in a clear and effective manner.
Guide customers through the credit application process and obtain necessary documentation.
Ensure a smooth and transparent F&I process to build trust and satisfaction.
Finance & Insurance Product Sales:
Offer and sell finance products such as extended service contracts, GAP insurance, tire and wheel protection, maintenance plans, etc.
Maximize dealership profit while maintaining a customer-first approach.
Achieve monthly sales targets for finance penetration and product sales.
Lender Relations:
Build and maintain strong relationships with financial institutions and lenders.
Secure the best possible financing terms for customers.
Submit loan applications and negotiate approvals and terms.
Compliance:
Ensure all deals are compliant with federal and state regulations including but not limited to Truth in Lending Act (TILA), Fair Credit Reporting Act (FCRA), and Red Flag Rules.
Accurately complete all finance paperwork and submit it in a timely manner.
Stay up to date on industry and legal changes related to auto financing.
Collaboration:
Work closely with the sales team to support deal structure and close transactions efficiently.
Communicate financing options effectively to both customers and sales staff.
Reporting:
Track and report daily, weekly, and monthly performance metrics.
Reconcile contracts and ensure timely funding.
Qualifications:
Proven experience as an F&I Manager or similar role in an automotive dealership.
Strong knowledge of dealership F&I operations, finance products, and regulations.
Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills.
High ethical standards and commitment to compliance.
Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
Proficiency with dealership CRM/DMS systems (e.g., Dealertrack, Reynolds & Reynolds, CDK).
Valid driver’s license.
Preferred Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, or related field.
AFIP Certification (Association of Finance & Insurance Professionals).
Bilingual skills are a plus.
