About Us:

Veterans Holdings, Inc. is a New York State-licensed cannabis processor dedicated to producing high-quality cannabis products.

Position Overview:

We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Bookkeeper with a strong background in GAAP accounting principles and an understanding of IRC §280E. The ideal candidate will have experience in cost accounting for manufacturing and be able to track inventory from raw materials to finished products.

Key Responsibilities:

• Maintain accurate financial records in compliance with GAAP and IRC §280E.
• Track raw material costs, work-in-progress inventory, and finished goods to properly allocate expenses.
• Process accounts payable, accounts receivable, and payroll with accuracy.
• Assist outside tax preparer with income tax preparation by ensuring compliance with 280E regulations and maintaining clear records of allowable deductions.
• Reconcile bank accounts, credit card statements, and general ledger accounts.
• Work closely with operations, procurement, and production to ensure accurate tracking of inventory and cost of goods sold (COGS).
• Prepare and analyze financial reports, including profit & loss statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements.
• Support the company during audits and regulatory inspections by maintaining well-organized financial documentation.

Qualifications:

• 3+ years of bookkeeping/accounting experience, preferably in a manufacturing or cannabis environment.
• Proficiency in GAAP accounting and a working knowledge of IRC §280E.
• Experience with cost accounting and inventory tracking in a manufacturing setting.
• Strong knowledge of QuickBooks, and other accounting software.
• Understanding of payroll processing, tax filings, and regulatory reporting.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, highly regulated industry with strict compliance requirements.
• Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving skills.

Preferred Skills:

• Experience in cannabis industry accounting.
• Familiarity with state-mandated seed-to-sale tracking.
• Knowledge of New York State tax laws and cannabis regulations.
• Pubic Notary a plus

Compensation & Benefits:

• Range: $25-$30/hr, based on experience
