**Position is Local to KY. Open to candidates from anywhere in the surrounding area, as long as there is no issue with statewide travel regularly.
Position Summary:
We are seeking a contract Construction Manager to support the execution of substation, transmission, and distribution projects. This role is critical to coordinating field activities, ensuring administrative accuracy, and maintaining alignment with project budgets and deadlines. The ideal candidate has hands-on utility experience and excels in managing vendors, field crews, and documentation.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support the Project Manager in delivering construction projects from mobilization through closeout.
- Oversee and coordinate field crews, subcontractors, and vendors to maintain safety, quality, and schedule.
- Track and manage daily job progress, construction budgets, procurement status, and material deliveries.
- Maintain detailed documentation including daily reports, schedules, material tracking, and vendor communications.
- Monitor adherence to safety and environmental regulations on-site.
- Facilitate toolbox talks, job site walk-throughs, and coordination meetings with crews and stakeholders.
- Work with procurement to manage vendor performance and resolve delivery or logistics issues.
- Assist in creating and maintaining updated construction schedules and manpower plans.
- Support monthly reporting, billing prep, and cost tracking in collaboration with the Project Manager.
- Identify project risks or delays and communicate resolutions proactively.
Qualifications:
- 5+ years of experience in construction management for electrical utility projects (substation, transmission, distribution).
- Strong administrative and field coordination skills, especially in managing multiple stakeholders and documentation.
- Proven ability to manage vendors, monitor budgets, and maintain schedule alignment.
- Knowledge of high-voltage construction standards and safety protocols.
- Proficient in construction/project management software and tools.
- OSHA 30 certification preferred.
- Must be available for the full 3–4 month contract term; potential for extension based on project needs.
- Valid driver’s license and ability to travel to job sites.
