Job Description
The VP of Supply Chain Operations directs system-wide Purchasing and Material Management functions with responsibility for purchasing, inventory control, material management systems, and financial controls.
Responsibilities:
- Provides professional support in the areas of supply purchasing, receiving, distribution, and inventory management.
- The primary objective is to manage and control the flow of supplies and equipment from acquisition to disposition. Areas of emphasis include supply and capital budgets, inventory control, asset management, and adherence to corporate and contracts for supplies and equipment.
- Responsible for department budget adherence and requisite review and analysis of departmental operations reports. Also responsible for the attendance and participation in designated committees.
- Directs the operation of the department to achieve financial objectives. Monitors budget on an ongoing basis and prepares variance reports, etc., to ensure financial goals are met or revised as appropriate.
- Responsible for establishing and maintaining policies for purchasing, receiving, supply distribution, and inventory. Ensures staff are compliant with all related policies
- Ensures compliance with corporate contracts and national Group Purchasing Organization (GPO) agreements. Oversees the standardization of products and supplies throughout the sites and follows the value analysis process for clinical product changes.
- Plans for and recommends space, staffing, training, and equipment needed by the department to meet patient needs and/or provide other services as demonstrated by budget, goals and objectives, reports, and other departmental records
- Prepares bid documents and conducts bid processes in conjunction with the corporate sourcing team. Negotiates with supply and equipment vendors. Prepares analyses, savings calculations, and return on investment. Manages supplier performance
- Recruits, selects, trains, assigns, and supervises staff. Evaluates performance, initiates disciplinary action, and takes personnel actions.
- Coordinates interface with management information systems, ensuring accuracy of data and functions and training of staff, and utilizes data and reports to improve operations.
Education and Training:
- Bachelor’s Degree, Business Major or related field.
- Master’s degree, MBA, is a plus, but not
