Location: Denver, CO with frequent travel to Western Slope and Wyoming
Compensation: $75,000 - $77,000 annually

We are seeking a People & Culture Business Partner to play a key role in enhancing the employee experience at Food Bank of the Rockies. This position will primarily support our Western Slope and Wyoming distribution centers, while also contributing to organization-wide initiatives in employee relations, coaching, leadership development, and performance management.
As a trusted advisor to people managers and staff, the People & Culture Business Partner will build strong, strategic relationships at the local level while aligning with broader organizational goals set by Leadership and the People & Culture team. This role is critical in ensuring all employees feel supported, connected, and set up for success – regardless of location.

Primary Responsibilities:
- Serve as the primary partner for addressing employee relations matters across all locations. Provide guidance to leaders and employees using a coaching leadership style rooted in empathy, accountability, fairness, and transparency.
- Conduct thorough, timely, and impartial investigations into workplace concerns, interpersonal conflicts, and policy violations. Ensure clear documentation and resolution practices that reflect our company values and compliance standards.
- Advise and coach leaders on consistent application of policies and appropriate corrective actions, reinforcing accountability while helping them build confidence in their decision-making.
- Travel regularly to Western Slope and Wyoming distribution centers (approximately 50%-60% travel expected) to provide in-person HR support while building meaningful relationships.
- Serve as the on-site Western Slope and Wyoming People & Culture lead; deliver and support core processes such as onboarding, benefit enrollment, performance management, employee relations, learning and development, and policy rollouts.
- Collaborate with the broader People & Culture team to align shared goals, maintain consistency in policy interpretation, and support organizational-wide HR initiatives across all distribution centers.
- Identify emerging issues and trends, and recommend proactive solutions
- Handle confidential information with discretion and care, ensuring the privacy and respect of employees, volunteers, partners, donors, or others
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Commitment to fulfilling Food Bank of the Rockies mission and positively representing the brand both internally and externally
- Demonstrated expertise in employee relations, conflict resolution, and coaching-based guidance
- Ability to travel up to 60% and work independently in a field-based role
- Demonstrated leadership capabilities and a passion for fostering a positive work culture
- Ability to manage relationships with employees and leaders at all levels of the organization; serve as a trusted partner and subject matter expert
- Ability to handle confidential information professionally, respecting employee privacy while maintaining company confidentiality
- Ability to professionally communicate verbally and in writing
- Self-directed, accountable for results, and proactive; independent problem solver
- Ability to use logic and reasoning when investigating issues and determining a solution
- Strong knowledge of human resources practices including employee relations and federal/state employment laws
- Extensive experience using Microsoft Office Suite and online technologies

- Frequent travel within the Food Bank of the Rockies service area, primarily to Western Slope and Wyoming distribution centers (up to 60%).
Required Qualifications:
- Minimum three (3) years experience in human resources with a focus on partnering with leaders
- Previous experience working in non-profits preferred
- Experience with ADP Workforce Now or similar HRIS system preferred
- HR certification (PHR, SHRM-CP) or equivalent experience a plus
Expected Hours of Work:
This is a full-time, exempt position. A flexible work schedule is available; while in-person work is required at all three locations, there is flexibility to work remotely on days that involve independent, heads-down tasks or virtual meetings. Weekly schedules may vary and can include weekdays, evenings, and Saturdays. Availability during core business hours of 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM is required.
Compensation:
$75,000 - $77,000 annually
