Our client, a well established produce distribution company, is seeking a talented Outside Sales Rep to join its growing team! The position is fully onsite with a flexible schedule based on customer needs, requiring availability when customers are placing orders, which may include early mornings or evenings.

Position Overview

The Outside Sales Representative is responsible for developing new business and nurturing relationships with chefs, restaurant owners, and foodservice operators. This role focuses on prospecting, consultative selling, and providing tailored solutions that help our clients succeed. You’ll represent Midstate’s values of quality, flexibility, and exceptional customer service.

Key Responsibilities

  • Identify and prospect new business opportunities in the St. Louis area and expansion markets

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with chefs, restaurant managers, and key decision makers.

  • Conduct regular in-person visits to current and potential clients to understand their needs and present Midstate’s solutions.

  • Develop customized programs for each client, including menu consulting and flexible ordering options.

  • Meet or exceed sales targets, contributing to company growth and margin objectives.

  • Collaborate closely with the inside sales team and operations to ensure seamless customer onboarding and account management.

  • Stay informed on industry trends, competitor offerings, and local market opportunities

  • Represent Midstate at culinary events, trade shows, and industry networking opportunities.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 2 years of sales experience, preferably in foodservice, produce distribution, or related industry.

  • Proven track record in B2B sales and relationship management.

  • Spanish fluency is preferred 

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills; comfortable engaging with chefs and business owners.

  • Self-motivated, organized, and able to work independently in the field.

  • Valid driver’s license and ability to travel within the delivery radius.

  • Passion for food, hospitality, and supporting the local culinary community.

Pay/Salary:

  • Base salary $40,000 to $60,000, with commission—potential for six-figure earnings for top performers
