Position summary:
Works independently in the performance of short cycle assembly of mechanical products and sub-assemblies with a high level of complexity.

Essential Functions:

• Assembles and tests precision assemblies and sub-assemblies such as regulators, pressure reducers and demand valves.
• Uses hand tools and measuring devices such as flow meters, altimeters and pressure gages.
• Works on any project in the department, demonstrating superior quality/quantity and skillfulness to employees in lower classifications.
• Knowledge in the use of precision of measuring tools such as micrometers and vernier calipers.
• Notifies supervision of shortages or inferior parts immediately.
• Responsible for highest quality work. Completes inspection of own work prior to submitting Quality Control.
• Organizes and cleans work area at the end of shift or upon completion of work order.
• Assists and instructs personnel of lower classification.
• Other duties as assigned.

Role Qualifications:
Skills, Abilities, and Other Requirements:

• Able to read blueprints, schematics, wiring, and diagrams. Good verbal/communication and organizational skills.

Education and Experience:

• A minimum of two years experience as precision assembler.

  Physical demands: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally required to stand, walk, sit, use hands to finger, reach with arms and hands, climb stairs, stoop, kneel, crouch, talk or hear. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 35 lbs.
  Work environment: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is exposed to weather conditions prevalent at the time and an air-conditioned and heated office. The noise level is high. The individual will be seated out on the factory floor where there may be exposure to machine noise and fumes.
