Shanty Creek Resorts is seeking a hands-on and detail-oriented Manager, Building Maintenance to assist in overseeing day-to-day operations of the resort’s maintenance team. Reporting directly to the Director of Maintenance, this individual will ensure all work orders and service tickets are resolved in a timely and efficient manner, while upholding safety and quality standards across the property. The Manager, Building Maintenance will play a key role in training staff, managing workflow, and supporting vendor coordination for outsourced projects or complex repairs.
Key Responsibilities:Operational Oversight
Monitor, assign, and track completion of maintenance tickets to ensure timely resolution.
Conduct regular inspections of resort facilities, equipment, and systems to verify maintenance standards are upheld.
Assist with prioritizing daily work schedules and maintenance projects.
Provide on-the-job training and support to maintenance technicians, ensuring consistency in repair quality and safety protocols.
Reinforce safety standards and ensure team compliance with OSHA and resort safety policies.
Serve as a working leader, helping the team troubleshoot and resolve technical issues.
Assist the Director of Maintenance with coordination and supervision of third-party contractors and service providers.
Participate in vendor walkthroughs, provide site access, and monitor project timelines for outsourced work.
Document maintenance activity, ticket closures, and staff performance in the resort’s maintenance management system.
Support Director in scheduling, materials procurement, and equipment tracking.
Report any recurring issues, risks, or inefficiencies to department leadership for proactive resolution.
Qualifications:Education & Experience
High school diploma or equivalent required.
3–5 years of hands-on maintenance experience in a hospitality or facilities setting, with at least 1 year in a lead or supervisory role preferred.
Working knowledge of building systems, HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and carpentry.
Excellent organizational and time management skills.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to lead by example.
Proficient in maintenance tracking software or work order systems.
Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and equipment manuals.
Commitment to safety, service, and operational excellence.
Working Conditions & Physical Requirements
Work is performed in indoor and outdoor environments, including exposure to various weather conditions.
Must be able to lift and move up to 50 pounds, stand or walk for extended periods, and climb ladders.
May require evening, weekend, or holiday shifts, depending on operational needs.
