Job Description

We're looking for an experienced and dynamic leader to oversee patient care and operations across several clinical areas, with a specific focus on the Operating Room. In this role, you'll implement best practices, ensure top-notch patient care, and foster a safe and efficient environment for both patients and staff. This position requires a proactive leader who can manage resources, champion continuous improvement, and collaborate effectively with various healthcare professionals.

Must Have Requirements:

  • Operating Room (OR) Experience: Must have a few years of experience in an Operating Room setting.

  • Leadership Experience: Minimum of four (4) years of experience in a leadership role (with or without direct reports).

  • Education & Broad Experience: Bachelor's Degree in Nursing (BSN) AND a minimum of five (5) years of experience in business operations, clinical healthcare, or a directly related field.

  • Licensure & Certifications:

    • Registered Nurse (RN) License in California (required at hire).

    • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification (required at hire).

 

What You'll Do

 

As a leader, you'll be crucial in shaping patient care and operational excellence. Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Lead Patient Care: Implement and oversee patient care delivery systems and practice standards, ensuring optimal and safe care across multiple locations, with particular attention to the Operating Room. You'll facilitate collaboration with physicians and other healthcare providers.

  • Manage Resources & Safety: Proactively monitor resource needs, ensuring appropriate staffing, equipment, supplies, and medication utilization. You'll maintain a safe environment for both patients and employees.

  • Resolve Patient Concerns: Oversee the investigation and resolution of patient/family concerns regarding care and services.

  • Drive Operational Excellence: Translate business plans into tactical actions, identify improvement opportunities, and ensure all policies and procedures are followed. You'll lead and develop your team, fostering collaboration and accountability.

  • Manage Administration: Oversee hospital administrative functions, including financial commitments, budget development, human resources, and quality/risk management. You'll ensure compliance with regulatory standards and design continuous survey readiness activities.

  • Ensure 24/7 Operations: Manage care delivery operations within a continuous environment, developing strategic partnerships and leading multidisciplinary teams to meet cost, quality, and clinical standards.

  • Lead Continuous Improvement: Drive long-term strategic projects aimed at improving quality, service, affordability, and operational efficiency. You'll identify root causes, implement solutions, and ensure performance metrics align with organizational initiatives.

  • Assure Quality & Safety: Continuously improve the quality and safety of clinical practices and operations. You'll hold staff accountable for compliance with all legal and regulatory requirements (e.g., Nursing Practice Act, TJC).
