TITLE: Project Manager
REPORTS TO: Matt Heck, Director of Operations
JOB OPPORTUNIY: Opportunity to join a growing and fast paced company providing project management for the design/construction/installation of athletic projects for outdoor spectator seating and videoboards with K-12 and collegiate customers. JOB OBJECTIVE: Manage all aspects of construction projects including project planning, contracts, submittal process, scheduling, cost management and overseeing subcontractors’ performance insuring compliance with quality standards.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
· Responsible for oversight of project planning, scheduling, budgeting, and execution of company assigned projects from handoff to completion.
· Analyzes, manages, and mitigates risks on all projects.
· Review, coordinate, and approve all drawings prior to submittal to architects, general contractors, vendors, and owners.
· Develops and manages successful relationships with vendors, architects, general contractors, sub-contractors, and company clients.
· Participate in on-site meetings with architects, construction managers, general contractors, and owners.
· Conduct field checks verifying measurements/dimensions for outdoor projects as needed.
· Negotiates with vendors, architects, general contractors, and sub-contractors resolving problems & conflicts.
· Identifies and resolves field issues with the subcontractors and internal installation teams in a timely manner.
· Verifies that the quality of finished work meets contract requirements and conditions of performance ensuring quality construction standards are met.
· Review change order requests and issues change orders once approved for profitability.
· Leads the project closeout and punch list process to ensure project completion dates are attained and budgeted company profitability is achieved.
· Oversee all on-site construction to monitor compliance with building and safety regulations on assigned projects
· Responsible for building code compliance with all state agencies.
DESIRED BACKGROUND & SKILL SETS:
· Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Civil/Structural Engineering or equivalent work experience
· 5-10 years of experience preferred with advanced knowledge of construction management and commercial general contractor processes. In K-12 education market preferred.
· Knowledge of building, design and construction systems and management strategies
· Familiarity with construction management software packages. Procore a plus.
· Ability to interpret blueprints, structural drawings, and specifications
· Strong computer skills, using Microsoft Office with emphasis on Excel
· Bluebeam experience
· Strong conflict management skills
· Quality and detail oriented
· Excellent and effective time management skills
· Professional writing and communication skills
