Field Service Technician- Job description

Our client has an immediate opening for a full-time Field Service Mechanic. Field Service Technicians work on our energy-efficient line of stationary engines. This position provides the opportunity to work for one of the largest cogeneration companies in the area, providing combined heat and power as well as cooling to our customers. Regular responsibilities of a Field Service Technician include daily travel, in a company service vehicle, to dispersed customer locations. The successful applicant will report to the Area Supervisor.

Field Service Technician Responsibilities:

•                    Must have experience with the following:

• Cylinder heads
• Valve Adjustments
• Cam Shafts
• Ability to read an Electrical Schematic and use a Voltmeter
•                     Major system repairs such as removal and installation of cylinder heads, and complete engines.
•                     Engine diagnostic tests such as compression ratio, cylinder leak down, and exhaust emissions sampling.
•                     Replacement of factory parts and components on our full line of products.
•                     Troubleshooting of control systems including malfunctioning sensors, switches, relays, contactors, actuators, and control valves using digital voltmeters, current clamp-on meters, and the diagnostic capabilities of embedded  control systems.

Field Service Technician Qualifications:

•                     Clean and valid driver’s license (operates company supplied vehicle)
•                     Lift and maneuver objects weighing more than 40 lbs
•                     Ability to read and follow manuals, electrical, and mechanical diagrams
•                     Strong interpersonal and communications skills.
•                     Motivation to become self-sufficient and educated on products and troubleshooting techniques.
•                     Ability to be flexible with changing daily priorities in a fast-paced environment
