Job Summary:

The Field Service Technician is responsible for the installation, startup, training, and repair of industrial equipment, with a focus on water treatment systems, heat transfer technology, and industrial laundry machinery. This role requires strong mechanical, electrical, and troubleshooting skills to ensure optimal equipment performance while maintaining high customer satisfaction. The ideal candidate will provide expert technical support, conduct preventative maintenance, and identify opportunities to enhance system reliability and efficiency.

This is a full-time position with a typical work schedule of 6:00 AM – 3:00 PM. However, extended hours, including weekends, may be required based on customer needs.

This role is ideal for a hands-on technician with expertise in water treatment, heat transfer, and industrial machinery, who thrives in a fast-paced, customer-focused environment.

 

Key Responsibilities & Duties:

  • Installation & Commissioning
    • Install and commission industrial equipment, including water treatment systems, heat transfer equipment, and industrial laundry machinery, ensuring proper functionality.
    • Perform system startup, calibration, and adjustments to optimize performance.
    • Train customers on equipment operation, maintenance procedures, and safety protocols.
  • Maintenance & Repair
    • Conduct routine maintenance and preventative service to minimize equipment downtime.
    • Diagnose and troubleshoot issues with mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems.
    • Repair or replace critical components such as motors, pumps, valves, PLCs, sensors, and control panels.
    • Ensure equipment meets operational standards through calibration and performance testing.
  • Customer Support & Documentation
    • Provide technical support both on-site and remotely to assist customers with troubleshooting and system optimization.
    • Maintain detailed digital service records, documenting work performed, parts used, and recommended follow-ups.
    • Establish and maintain strong customer relationships, ensuring professional communication and support.
    • Identify and recommend opportunities for service contracts, spare parts sales, and system upgrades.

Education & Preferred Qualifications:

  • Associate’s degree or technical certification in mechanical, electrical, or industrial engineering preferred.
  • 3+ years of field service experience in industrial equipment, water treatment systems, heat transfer technology, or related fields.
  • Strong troubleshooting skills in mechanical and electrical systems.
  • Knowledge of PLCs, industrial control systems, sensors, and automation.
  • Experience with hydraulics, pneumatics, pumps, motors, and heat exchangers.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and wiring diagrams.
  • Excellent problem-solving, critical thinking, and customer service skills.
  • Ability to work independently and manage service calls efficiently.
  • Frequent travel with little to no advanced notice (80%).
  • Valid driver’s license and ability to pass background and drug screening.
