BreakPoint Labs is looking for a Software Engineer with 3+ years of experience and who has a strong foundation in software development and a passion for learning new technologies in an ever-changing industry. This role requires someone who can work independently while knowing when to reach out for support. The team works primarily with Python, Django, PostgreSQL, Docker, and JavaScript. While the position is remote, the Candidate must live within the preferred locations which may be either the National Capital Region, Dayton, OH, or Vicksburg, MS. This is due to occasional on-site work that could occur. The ideal Candidate must be willing and able to explore and adapt to emerging technologies and able to achieve unique technical challenges as they arise. We need someone who is proactive, curious, and eager to grow, with the ability to tackle both structured projects and odd-end tasks.

Responsibilities for the position:

• Collaborate with other developers and engineers to develop and support applications
• Troubleshoot software issues and develop solutions
• Draft and maintain technical documentation
• Package application for deployment using Docker preferred

Required Experience:

• Experience working with: Python, Django, PostgreSQL, Docker and JavaScript
• 3 years of experience in the development, deployment, operation, and maintenance of software applications
• 1 year of experience writing applications with Python

Certifications Required: Security+ Continuing Education (CE) [CompTIA]. If the ideal Candidate does not hold this cert, they must have the ability to obtain the certification within the first 90 days of employment.

Security Clearance Required: DoD Interim Secret Clearance.

Education Required: Bachelor’s Degree in the Area(s) of Study of Computer Science, Software Engineering or related field.
