About the Role:
We’re seeking a skilled Diesel Technician / Lot Supervisor to join our Used Truck Center team in Joliet, IL. This is a hands-on role requiring both mechanical expertise in diesel trucks and organizational abilities to support reconditioning and sales operations. If you have a CDL, solid diagnostic knowledge, and are mechanically inclined, we want to hear from you!
Key Responsibilities:
• Perform thorough inspections on used diesel trucks
• Conduct DOT inspections, change fluids, brakes, and other light mechanical work
• Perform vehicle diagnostics and use diagnostic software to identify issues
• Drive and test trucks — CDL required
• Coordinate repairs and reconditioning with vendors for resale readiness
• Help organize and maintain truck inventory on the lot
• Communicate with the sales team regarding truck condition and repair needs
• Run parts to vendors as needed
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the UTC lot
What we’re looking for:
• CDL License – required
• Strong mechanical and diagnostic skills, especially with heavy-duty trucks
• Hands-on experience in diesel truck maintenance
• Familiarity with Microsoft Office and truck diagnostic tools
• Ability to multitask and support the sales team with reconditioning coordination
• Self-starter with excellent communication and organizational skills
• Experience managing and prioritizing repairs for a fleet or lot is a plus
