Physician Assistant (PA) and Nurse Practitioner (NP) Job Summary
We are looking for a Physician Assistant (PA) who will work in collaboration with physicians and other healthcare providers to provide quality patient care. The PA is responsible for providing diagnostic, therapeutic, and preventive healthcare services, as well as performing physical examinations, ordering and interpreting diagnostic tests, and prescribing medications.
Physician Assistant (PA) Duties and Responsibilities
- Conduct physical examinations and obtain medical histories
- Diagnose and treat acute and chronic illnesses and injuries
- Order and interpret laboratory tests and x-rays
- Develop treatment plans and prescribe medications
- Educate patients’ health and wellness
- Monitor and manage chronic health conditions
- Consult with physicians and other healthcare providers
- Perform administrative duties such as documenting patient records, performing occasional audits of charts, give feedback to improve the clinic.
Physician Assistant (PA) Requirements and Qualifications
- Valid state Physician Assistant license
- Physician Assistant certification from the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA)
- Knowledge of anatomy, physiology, and pathophysiology
- Ability to communication with patients and staff effectively
- Ability to work independently and as part of a healthcare team
- Compassionate and caring bedside manner
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- Proficiency with EMRs in general and EMD's specifically is a plus
Nurse Practitioner (NP) Requirements and Qualifications
- Master’s degree in Nursing
- Current license as a Nurse Practitioner in the state of practice
- At least two years of experience as a Nurse Practitioner
- Knowledge of anatomy, physiology, and pathophysiology
- Ability to communication with patients and staff effectively
- Ability to work independently and as part of a healthcare team
- Compassionate and caring bedside manner
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- Proficiency with EMRs in general and EMD's specifically is a plus
