TRAFFIC CONTROL CORPORATION is an established regional multi-line distributor and integrator of traffic signal systems and equipment used by state and city roadway and public works departments. We are looking to hire a highly motivated Territory Sales Representative based in or near St. Louis, MO who will cover the eastern half of Missouri state as well as Southern Illinois.

Job Responsibilities

  • This position is responsible for achieving sales growth of hardware, software and services used to manage vehicle and pedestrian traffic. These products / solutions can range from commodity grade to highly technical custom systems.
  • You will be expected to own end-to-end selling of appropriate products and focus on driving growth among target accounts and new accounts.
  • Accountable for achieving sales growth through the resolution of specific customer problems using your technical skills and technical knowledge.
  • Make regular customer visits that will include meetings and presentations to municipal employees, civil engineers, electrical contractors and procurement personnel to develop new business opportunities.
  • Engage and leverage team members when appropriate (regional manager, field technicians, factory sales personnel, etc.
  • A customer focused, service-oriented approach in a business to government and business to business sales environments is essential for success.
  • Executes sales efforts in a timely, ethical and professional manner, assuring a favorable impression of self and the company.
  • Maintains cooperative manufacturer relationships consistent with company image and company goals in the marketplace.

Qualifications

  • Candidate must have 3+ years of outside sales experience in electrical / industrial products and solutions.
  • Candidate should have experience selling to electrical contractors and civil engineering firms.
  • Candidate must be able to read and interpret electrical and mechanical drawings.
  • Business to government sales experience is desirable but not required.
  • Strong negotiation, order closing and project management skills required.
  • Candidate must be able to read and interpret electrical and mechanical drawings.
  • Bachelor's degree in a closely related field; or equivalent combined education and on the job experience.
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate clearly and concisely in written and verbal formats, including sales presentations.
  • Strong problem analysis and resolution skills.
  • Proven proficiency in the use of a personal computer accompanied by a strong aptitude for technical applications, as well as in the use of Microsoft Office software, including Word & Excel.

Requirements

  • A valid driver’s license and proven safe driving record.
  • Your own late model reliable vehicle.
  • Position requires up to 25% travel in territory.
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without company sponsorship now and in the future.
