Position Summary:
We are seeking a proactive and experienced Facilities Maintenance Supervisor to oversee day-to-day maintenance operations across a commercial or industrial facility. This role is responsible for managing maintenance personnel, coordinating preventive maintenance schedules, responding to equipment issues, and ensuring a clean, safe, and operational work environment.
The ideal candidate will have hands-on technical expertise across multiple trades (HVAC, electrical, plumbing, mechanical), excellent leadership skills, and a commitment to safety and operational efficiency.
Key Responsibilities:
Supervise a team of maintenance technicians and contractors across multiple facility areas
Coordinate and prioritize preventive and corrective maintenance tasks for building systems, equipment, and infrastructure
Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to HVAC, lighting, plumbing, electrical systems, and general mechanical equipment
Maintain and manage the facility’s CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management System) for tracking work orders and maintenance logs
Conduct regular facility inspections and safety audits; ensure compliance with OSHA and other regulatory standards
Manage vendor relationships and service contracts for outsourced maintenance or repairs
Maintain inventory of tools, parts, and supplies; coordinate purchasing as needed
Support emergency response efforts related to facility operations, such as utility outages or equipment failures
Collaborate with operations, safety, and project teams to support facility improvement projects
Train maintenance staff on proper procedures, safety protocols, and best practices
Provide leadership during off-hours or emergency response when needed
Qualifications:
High school diploma or GED required; trade school or technical certification preferred
5+ years of facilities or industrial maintenance experience, with at least 2 years in a supervisory or lead role
Proficient in general building systems: HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and mechanical
Experience with CMMS and Microsoft Office Suite
Strong organizational and time management skills
Knowledge of building codes, OSHA safety standards, and environmental regulations
Excellent communication and team leadership abilities
Ability to read blueprints, technical manuals, and schematics
Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs and work in varying physical conditions (heat, noise, heights, confined spaces)
Preferred Experience:
Facilities management experience in a commercial office, warehouse, distribution, or manufacturing setting
EPA 608 Universal HVAC Certification or similar trade certifications
Experience managing contractors and large-scale maintenance projects
