Sarasota County Schools is in search of an Occupational Therapist to facilitate the special needs students’ independent functioning in the school setting.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree/Master’s Degree in Health Services
• Licensed by the state of Florida
• Certified by the state of Florida

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct appropriate evaluation of students referred for possible exceptional student education needs and prepare reports of the evaluation and findings.
• Plan intervention and service delivery programs to meet student’s individual needs.
• Implement and direct interventions essential to meeting targeted students’ needs.
• Provide information and consultative services to appropriate personnel in support of students with disabilities.
• Provide effective verbal and written communications to administrators, teachers, parents and other community agencies.
• Establish schedules for meeting with students, conferencing with parents and assisting in rehabilitation techniques.
• Provide resources to all stakeholders involved in the evaluation, identification of student needs and rehabilitation of students.
• Adhere to ethical / professional standards and to the rules governing the program at federal, state and local levels.
• Requisition equipment, text and other resources.
• Inventory supplies and distribute to the appropriate staff.
• Attend workshops and seminars designed for professional growth.
• Demonstrate initiative in the performance of assigned responsibilities.
• Provide for a safe and secure workplace.
• Model and maintain high ethical standards.

Starting salary is $57,500 minimum with opportunity for experience credit and educational supplement for Master's degree.
