Candidate MUST have:
• Must be located in Central Region (Denver, Minnesota, Chicago, etc.) and covering the surrounding area
• Must be willing to travel up to 90% of the time
• Would strongly benefit from having previous T-Mobile experience
• Must Comply with attached travel policy
• Must have Valid Driver's License
Candidate must also be able to provide the following certifications:
• CPR
• BBP - Blood Borne Pathogens
• RF Awareness – Radio Frequency Awareness
• OSHA 10 (10-hour course) + Fall Protection or OSHA 30 (30 Hour course)
The Telecommunication Health and Safety Field Auditor is responsible for developing, implementing, and managing health and safety strategies across all telecom operations. This role ensures compliance with industry standards and regulatory requirements, promotes a safety-first culture, and protects the health and well-being of all employees, contractors, and stakeholders involved in telecommunications infrastructure and service delivery.
Key Responsibilities:
• Develop and enforce comprehensive health and safety policies tailored to telecom operations (e.g., RF exposure, tower / shelter work, underground cabling, crane and capstan hoisting, etc.).
• Lead routine inspections, audits, and safety assessments of sites and facilities.
• Ensure compliance with applicable laws, including OSHA, FCC, ANSI, and local regulations.
• Conduct detailed risk assessments for telecom activities (e.g., working at heights, electrical hazards, equipment & sector frame swaps, emergency / rescue plans etc.).
• Implement safety controls and preventive measures for high-risk tasks and environments.
• Develop and deliver safety educational programs (e.g., fall protection, RF awareness, confined space entry, etc.).
• Monitor training compliance and maintain up-to-date records and certifications for all employees and contractors.
• Respond to safety incidents and near-misses; lead investigations and root cause analysis.
• Prepare detailed incident reports and recommend corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
• Oversee procurement, inspection, and use of safety equipment and PPE.
• Ensure field teams are properly equipped for safe work conditions.
• Stay informed on changes to health and safety laws and standards.
• Act as point-of-contact for regulatory bodies and ensure full audit readiness.
• Develop emergency response plans for telecom operations, including evacuation, medical
• Generate regular reports for senior management on safety performance and compliance.
• Facilitate toolbox talks, safety briefings, and internal communications.
Qualifications:
• Minimum 5 years of HSE experience in the telecommunications or construction industry.
• Professional certifications OSHA 10 with Fall Protection or OSHA 30, RF Awareness, Blood Brone Pathogen (BBP), and CPR with practical are required.
• In-depth knowledge of telecom safety hazards including RF exposure, tower climbing, electrical safety, rope rigging & crane hoisting methods & MEWP’s.
• Strong understanding of OSHA, FCC, ANSI / ASSP A10.48-2023 and other relevant regulatory frameworks.
• Excellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work on-site and travel to multiple locations as needed.
Working Conditions:
• Frequent travel in personal vehicle to field locations, including remote or elevated telecom sites.
• Exposure to varying weather conditions, RF environments, and physical labor conditions.
• Must be prepared to stay overnight on a regular basis.
• Must be able to wear and inspect PPE and access confined or elevated workspaces.
