The Empanada Lady is seeking a dependable, skilled cook to join our team in delivering bold, authentic Puerto Rican flavors to the heart of Baltimore. This role is for someone who can move with urgency, follow direction, and execute consistently — no babysitting, no shortcuts.

Location: 10 South Street, Baltimore, MD
Availability: Must be available for brunch, lunch, and dinner shifts, with reliable weekend availability
Compensation: Based on experience, with room to grow

Position Overview:

We are not looking for someone to roll empanadas — we’re looking for a kitchen professional who can manage service, stay ahead on prep, and support our growing catering operation. This is a position for someone serious about food, systems, and being part of a team that moves with purpose.

Responsibilities include:

• Executing brunch, lunch, and dinner service with consistency

• Preparing proteins, sauces, and sides for daily service and catering orders

• Following detailed prep lists and recipes accurately

• Maintaining kitchen cleanliness, organization, and labeling

• Managing prep par levels and staying ahead of demand

• Communicating clearly with the team and working independently when needed

• Supporting off-site catering prep and setup as required

Qualifications:

• 2+ years of experience in a fast-paced kitchen or line cook position

• Reliable and on-time — no exceptions

• Can follow direction without ego or resistance

• Works well independently and communicates when tasks are complete

• Understands food safety, time management, and proper storage practices

• Takes pride in clean work and consistent output

Preferred but not required:

• Experience with Puerto Rican, Caribbean, or Latin cuisine

• ServSafe certification

• Prior catering or off-site service experience
