Compass Healthcare Consulting & Placement is conducting a search for an experienced Senior Payroll Specialist for a Corporate Healthcare Company with multiple payroll entities with an office located on a beautiful campus in Riverdale, NY. Qualified candidates will have 5 years experience as a Payroll Specialist, preferably in a Lead or Supervisor level role within the healthcare setting. Will have prior experience and knowledge of Healthcare Union Benefit Reporting and Payments. Qualified candidates will have excellent computer skills including: Excel, Pivot Tables & VLOOKUP, they will be experienced in Kronos or UKG and ADP Enterprise 6 or ADP Workforce Now.
The role of the Senior Payroll Specialist is responsible for managing and processing payroll for all affiliate organizations of the Corporate Healthcare Company. This role ensures accurate and timely payroll operations in full compliance with company policies, union regulations, and all applicable federal, state, and local laws.
Working under the direction of the Director of Payroll, the Senior Payroll Specialist oversees a broad range of payroll-related activities including retirement plan processing, union benefit submissions, and payroll data analysis. This position requires a high level of attention to detail, confidentiality, and expert knowledge of payroll systems and procedures.
Responsibilities:
Responsible for managing the end-to-end processing to ensure accurate and timely payroll processing for all companies.
Responsible for overseeing the Timekeepers in UKG and HHA exchange to ensure that all time and attendance records are reviewed, approved and processed correctly.
Responsible for providing coverage and assistance to other Payroll team members, as well as supporting the Director of Payroll on an as needed basis.
Process weekly payrolls for all affiliated entities, ensuring full compliance with Federal, State, Local laws and company policies.
Oversee timekeepers in UKG/Kronos and HHA Exchange to confirm that all time and attendance data is reviewed, approved, and processed.
Respond promptly to employee payroll inquiries, ensuring timely and accurate resolution of discrepancies.
Reconcile payroll data to reflect HR/HRIS personnel changes (e.g., new hires, terminations, position changes).
Update and maintain deductions, direct deposits, taxes, and garnishments accurately upon receipt of documentation.
Provide the Finance Department with various payroll reports to assist in the monthly financial close process.
Reconcile and process weekly retirement benefit funding and annual Safe Harbor contributions.
Process monthly healthcare union benefit reports and payment requests for bargaining units, including 1199 RN, 1199 LPN, 1199/114 Services and Maintenance, and 1199 Homecare Division.
Process check requests for specific benefits such as FSA contributions, 1199 Home Mortgage payments, and WageWorks commuter benefits.
Maintain confidential payroll records and department files in accordance with internal policies.
Support the Payroll Director with special projects and assignments as needed.
Specialized Skills and Technical Competencies
Ability to maintain strict confidentiality in all payroll and employee matters.
Proficient in applying payroll principles, regulations, and internal policies.
Effective communication skills with employees, department heads, and external vendors.
Strong multi-tasking and prioritization abilities to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
Knowledge and hands-on experience with ADP Enterprise V6, Kronos/UKG, and HHA Exchange.
Familiarity with healthcare union contracts and bargaining agreement terms related to payroll processing.
Qualifications:
Associated degree required.
Minimum of 5 years of payroll experience, preferably in a supervisory or lead role.
Extensive knowledge of payroll principles, practices, laws, and regulations.
Proficiency in ADP Enterprise Version 6 or ADP Workforce Now preferred.
Experience with Kronos or UKG Time and Attendance systems required.
Strong skills in Microsoft Excel, including pivot tables and VLOOKUP functions.
Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet tight deadlines with minimal supervision.
Excellent interpersonal, communication, and customer service skills.
Proven ability to work collaboratively with senior management and cross-functional teams.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Compensation:
$70,000 – $80,000 annually, plus Excellent Benefit Package!
