A well-established steel company is looking to hire Steel Shop Associates in the Lakeland, FL area. As a Steel Shop Associate, you will be trained on how to operate machinery in the fabrication shop! If you have a great attitude, strong work ethic, and are coachable, we want to hear from you! This is a great opportunity to learn a new trade!

What You’ll Be Doing

Assist machine operators with setting up and preparing machines for operation, including loading materials and ensuring proper machine configuration
Unload incoming parts and materials from trucks or storage areas and move them to designated workstations or machines
Transport finished materials to sorting areas, ensuring items are organized and ready for shipping or storage
Sort and organize finished parts based on size, type, and order specifications for efficient handling
Conduct regular checks to ensure that all materials meet safety and quality standards
Maintain accurate records of materials received and processed, reporting any discrepancies to supervisors
Adhere to all safety protocols and procedures to maintain a safe working environment
Utilizes a software called TEKLA
Achieves weekly goals for production
Reports daily to Machine Lead for consumables and tools needed

Who We’re Looking For

High school diploma or GED equivalent
Previous experience in a manufacturing or steel processing environment
Proficient in Apple IOS and Android OS platforms
Proficient in TEKLA EPM GO, preferred
Ability to stand or walk for extended periods of time
Ability to lift or carry up to 50lbs
Positive attitude and energetic
Previous machine fabrication shop experience preferred, but not required

What You Can Expect

$18.00/hour, starting pay
Regular schedule of Monday – Friday, 6:55am – 4:30pm
Potential Night Shift in future with schedule of Monday – Friday, 4:30pm – 2:30am
