Summary:
The Human Resource Generalist is responsible for performing HR-related duties on a professional level and works closely with senior HR management in supporting all functional areas of human resources. This role carries out responsibilities in the following areas: recruitment/employment, employee relations, benefits administration, performance management, onboarding, policy implementation, and employment law compliance.
Duties / Responsibilities:
- Administer day-to-day human resources functions, including but not limited to recruitment, onboarding, employee relations, and offboarding.
- Provide support in executing HR strategies that align with the overall business goals.
- Support performance management processes and assist managers with coaching and feedback strategies.
- Partner with leadership to maintain a positive and compliant workplace culture.
- Respond to employee questions regarding policies, payroll, and other HR programs.
- Coordinate new hire orientation and onboarding process to ensure a smooth transition into the organization.
- Maintain and update employee records in HRIS to ensure accuracy and compliance with recordkeeping requirements.
- Assist in the development, communication, and enforcement of company policies and procedures.
- Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations.
- Support culture and employee engagement
- Manages all aspects of IRE program including;
- Recruitment for each cohort
- Coordinate CAO lunch time speakers
- Plan and coordinate Orientation, Final presentation day and graduation
- Coordinate lunch for in person days
- Coordinate headshots for IRE students and COG employees
- Lead IRE Advisory Board
- Attend CPM conference every year (COG is a voting board member)
- Coordinate alumni events and classes
Job Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in human resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
- 3+ years of experience in a human resources generalist role or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- PHR or SHRM-CP certification preferred.
- Strong knowledge of employment law, HR policies, and best practices.
- Experience working with ADP.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Proven ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
- Strong listening and interpersonal skills; skilled at developing and
maintaining effective working relationships - Collaborates well with others yet is highly self-motivated and able to work
well under stress and independently in a fast-paced environment. - Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Sound judgment and decision-making skills
- Ability to maintain confidentiality
