Dermatology Associates Macomb-Oakland, PC is looking for a full-time medical assistant for our Novi office location. We are a medical dermatology office and we are dedicated to providing quality patient care to the members of our community as well as excellent customer service. As a team we work together to create a professional and positive working environment for all employees.

Job Summary and Responsibilities:

The medical assistant assists with the examination and treatment of patients under the direct supervision of a provider and reports directly to the Practice Administrator. The assistant will perform necessary quality practices, adheres to standard OSHA procedures, and complies with HIPAA regulations. Other responsibilities include, but are not limited to; room and lab sterilization, chart documentation utilizing an EMR as well as a paper charting system, properly handles and documents pathology, maintains adequate medical supplies in clinical areas, assures adequate level of inventory at all times, cleans and maintains equipment, participates in staff meetings, educational in service programs and completes required continuous training and education.

· Strong computer skills necessary, experience with Modernizing Medication, EMA preferred

· Excellent organizational skills and the ability to adapt and work well in a fast paced environment

· Interpersonal and Communication skills necessary to effectively and tactfully work with a variety of patients and co-workers.

· Ability and willingness to cross train in non-clinical areas of the practice.

· Ability to stand for 90% of working hours, the ability to bend, stoop, twist, and/or pull in order to perform the tasks of the job. The ability to lift up to 50 lbs.

Education/Experience/Certification/Immunization Requirements

- High school graduate or equivalent,

-2 years of medical assistant experience, Dermatology experience preferred,

-Certificate of completion of medical assistant program, BCLS certification, and/or Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) Certifications preferred.

- Seasonal Influenza Vaccination Required
