Orthopaedic surgeon specializing in joint replacement surgery, arthroscopic surgery, sports medicine, and the treatment of a wide range of injuries and conditions affecting the musculoskeletal system is looking for a Part-time PA/NP to work in the clinic.

This is a part-time position working 2-3 days a week. We are flexible on scheduling for the right person. 

This position is perfect someone looking to semi-retire. Great work-life balance and work environment.  

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES 
·         Performing comprehensive and problem focused history and physical exams, interpret and correlate laboratory and diagnostic procedures. Interpret and correlate subjective and objective data to formulate a differential diagnosis and establish a working diagnosis. Formulate a treatment plan for Orthopedic problems within scope of practice. Implement therapeutic intervention for specific conditions when appropriate. Exercise judgment on problems requiring consultation, referral, or evaluation by the supervising Orthopedic surgeon or other health care professionals.    

·         Order appropriate laboratory or diagnostic studies such as but not limited to EMG, electrocardiogram, compartment pressure measurements, and x-ray examinations including special x-ray examinations CT, MRI, and bone scans etc.

·         Perform diagnostic and therapeutic procedures including but not limited to injections of joints, tendons, trigger points and bursa.    

·         Order, prescribe, dispense, and administer Medication, orthosis, orthotics, braces and other Orthopedic devices as may be allowed by state legislation.

·         Evaluate, screen and council patient on health maintenance and promote utilization of community resources. Design, conduct and/or participate in research studies, manage databases, and perform quality assurance.

 

QUALIFICATIONS 

 ·         Licensure in good standing with the State of Texas as a licensed Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner. 

·         Ability to effectively communicate with client population and staff while demonstrating a high degree of diplomacy and tact. 

·         Intermediate computing skills and a general familiarity with the use of EMR systems. 

·         Willingness to work evenings or weekends on some occasions as special needs arise. 

·         Ability to multi-task and work effectively with other medical disciplines. 

·         Culturally sensitive and demonstrated ability for working with ethnically diverse populations. 

·         Possess a thorough understanding of the importance of confidentiality and non-disclosure according to the general standards set forth in HIPPA and other Federal Addiction confidentiality mandates. 

·         Valid Texas Driver’s License, Insurance, and ability to travel as required to perform duties. 

 

 

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE 

·         Orthopaedic experience highly preferred

·         Clinic Based (no operating room or surgical assisting required for this role)

·         Experience providing joint injections preferred
