Senior CNC Programmer

Location: Phoenix, AZ Residency Status: US Citizen Compensation: Based on Experience $35-$38/hr

In this role, you'll be instrumental in developing and optimizing CNC and laser programs for complex manufacturing processes. What You'll Do:

• Develop and generate new 3, 4, and 5-axis CNC and laser programs directly from engineering drawings and 3D models using CAM software.

• Troubleshoot and optimize existing programs and processes to improve efficiency and quality.

• Collaborate closely with engineering to resolve design or fixture-related challenges.

• Adapt and convert programs for use on different machines while maintaining data integrity.

• Manage and maintain a comprehensive database of new and existing programs.

• Select appropriate tooling from the database to meet production requirements.

• Work with shop floor personnel to make program adjustments and optimize machine performance, especially during New Product Introduction (NPI) and first-time runs.

• Navigate and utilize our MRP system for relevant tasks.

What You'll Bring:

• Minimum of 5 years of hands-on, offline programming experience using Mastercam (or similar CAM software with a willingness to be trained on Mastercam) for 3, 4, and 5-axis CNC mills.

• Strong understanding of G-code, machining principles, and specific machine capabilities.

• In-depth knowledge of cutting tools and standard machining practices.

• Proficiency in interpreting and applying Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T).

• Experience in Aerospace Machining is a must.

• Ability to effectively navigate and utilize MRP systems.

• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel.

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

• Strong problem-solving abilities.

Preferred Skills (Nice to Have, but Not Required):

• Tooling design experience.

• Fixture design experience.

• Probe programming.

• Knowledge of proper inspection methods in relation to GD&T.

• Knowledge of laser machine parameters.

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to spend up to 10 hours a day at a workstation and/or standing.

This position offers a dynamic environment where your advanced programming skills will be critical to our success. While primarily office-based (90% at a CAD/CAM workstation), you'll also spend approximately 10% of your time on the shop floor, ensuring the seamless execution of your programs.
