We are seeking a CNC Mill Machinist to join our aerospace assembly team in the Fountain Valley area! This is a direct hire opportunity!

Hours: 3:30PM Start Time
$28 - 32/hr Based on Experience

Position Summary:

We are seeking a skilled R&D CNC Operator to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will operate and maintain CNC equipment (including mills, lathes with live tooling, and/or mill-turn machines) in a fast-paced R&D environment. You will play a key role in developing prototype components and supporting new product development by executing precision machining operations and troubleshooting technical challenges.

Key Responsibilities:

• Operate CNC machines, monitoring performance and adjusting settings as needed to maintain part accuracy.

• Set up, program, and edit CNC operations for prototype and low-volume production runs.

• Collaborate with engineering and R&D teams to execute experimental machining tasks.

• Inspect components using precision measurement tools to ensure adherence to tight tolerances.

• Perform advanced preventive and corrective maintenance on shop machinery.

• Troubleshoot machining and equipment issues independently.

• Run multiple machines or production processes simultaneously when required.

• Interpret complex technical drawings, blueprints, and specifications.

• Calculate and set machine parameters including tool positions, speeds, feeds, and coolant flows.

Qualifications:

• Minimum of 5 years' experience in CNC machine operation and setup (including lathes, mills, and/or mill-turn centers), preferably in an R&D or prototype environment.

• Proficient in interpreting blueprints and manufacturing drawings to determine machining sequences and setup requirements.

• Strong understanding of CNC controls and G-code programming; experience with Mastercam or Esprit is a plus.

• Demonstrated ability to work independently and problem-solve in a high-precision environment.

• Advanced math skills, including trigonometry and algebra, are essential.

• Familiarity with lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement practices is desirable.

Education & Training:

• Associate’s Degree in Manufacturing Technology, Machine Tool Technology, or related field
  OR

• Completion of a recognized machinist apprenticeship or technical certification program
  OR

• Equivalent experience in a journeyman-level CNC machinist role
