Club J Program Coordinator
Part-Time | Monday - Friday | 25-28 Hours/Week
Afternoon Hours: Approximately 1:15 PM - 6:15 PM
About Us
Club J is a vibrant and nurturing afterschool program serving children in Pre-K through 5th grade. Our mission is to provide a safe, enriching, and engaging environment where children can learn, play, and grow beyond the school day. We are seeking a dedicated and organized Program Coordinator to help with daily operations, support staff and students, and ensure excellence in execution every afternoon.
Position Summary
The Club J Program Coordinator is a key leader responsible for the successful daily execution of our after-school program. This role requires a calm, proactive, and solution-oriented presence during Club J’s busy afternoon hours. The Program Coordinator will manage real-time scheduling logistics, staff support, and transitions, while responding to behavior challenges, injuries, and unexpected changes with confidence and care.
They will work closely with the Club J Director to ensure smooth daily operations, communicate directly with parents regarding any incidents or concerns, and uphold a safe, positive, and structured environment for children and staff alike.
Key Responsibilities
- Address student behavior concerns, minor injuries, and parent communication
- Support staff in maintaining a structured, positive environment
- Ensure areas are cleaned and materials are put away
- Collaborate with the Curriculum Coordinator on activity implementation
- Make timely decisions and adapt quickly to changing situations
- Ensure alignment with Bright from the Start standards and safety protocols
Qualifications
- Experience working with children in Pre-K through 5th grade (required)
- Experience supervising or leading teams in a youth or education setting
- Strong communication and problem-solving skills
- Organized and able to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
- Familiarity with Bright from the Start standards (preferred)
- CPR/First Aid Certified (or willing to obtain)
- Must be at least 18 years of age and able to pass a background check and fingerprints through a DECAL/DFTS
