Position Overview

We are hiring a Distribution Manager to lead and strengthen our outbound shipping operations. This role will be responsible for ensuring on-time, accurate deliveries, negotiating competitive carrier rates, and maintaining compliance with retailer shipping standards. The right candidate will be detail-oriented, results-driven, and capable of managing a high-volume, multi-channel distribution process.

Key Responsibilities

• Ensure 100% order accuracy and on-time shipment for all outbound orders.

• Monitor and maintain daily shipping deadlines to meet retailer scorecard standards.

• Negotiate and manage carrier contracts for LTL, FTL, and parcel shipping to control costs and improve performance.

• Oversee routing guide compliance for major accounts (Home Depot, Lowe’s, Menards, Wayfair, etc.).

• Partner with the warehouse team to ensure orders leave on time, in full (OTIF) and with proper labeling/documentation.

• Track and improve key KPIs including:

  • On-time shipment rate

  • Freight cost per order

  • Retailer compliance scorecards

  • Damage rate

  • Carrier performance metrics

• Handle shipping discrepancies, claims, and customer escalations in partnership with Customer Service and Supply Chain.

• Coordinate with the ERP team (Acumatica) to ensure accurate shipment data and carrier integration.

• Identify process improvements in packaging, consolidation, freight optimization, and labor utilization.

• Work with Finance and Accounting on freight invoicing, disputes, and budget tracking.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience in shipping, logistics, or distribution management.

• Experience negotiating rates and terms with LTL/FTL and small parcel carriers.

• Strong understanding of retailer logistics compliance requirements.

• ERP and/or TMS experience (Acumatica a plus).

• Able to manage high-volume shipments across multiple channels (B2B, D2C, marketplaces).

• Excellent communication, problem-solving, and planning skills.

Preferred Skills

• Background in home improvement or durable goods industries.

• Experience with EDI and vendor portals (CommerceHub, SPS).

• Bilingual English/Spanish is a plus.
