Job Description

Workers’ Compensation Attorney – Cranston, RI (Hybrid after 3 months)

A leading and fast-growing personal injury firm in Rhode Island is expanding its services to include Workers’ Compensation. With a strong advertising presence in RI and newly launched campaigns in Massachusetts, the firm is already receiving a steady flow of workers’ compensation cases. Until now, these matters have been referred out—but going forward, they will be handled in-house.

We’re looking for an attorney who is excited about this opportunity to build or be part of something new.

About the Role:

The position will initially focus on handling workers’ compensation cases. There are two potential paths for the right candidate:

  • A business-minded attorney interested in growing and managing the Workers’ Comp department long-term.

  • Or, an attorney who prefers to focus solely on practicing workers’ compensation law.

What You’ll Do:

  • Represent injured clients in workers’ compensation matters across RI and MA

  • Handle cases from intake through settlement (typical cases settle within ~6 weeks)

  • Attend regular in-person court appearances in both RI and MA

  • Optionally: help build and manage the department as the volume grows

Training:

  • No workers’ comp experience required

  • You will train under an experienced workers’ compensation attorney from a partnering firm for the first 3 months

Requirements:

  • Licensed to practice law Rhode Island OR Massachusetts and open to waiving in to either or state

  • Management experience is a plus (experience doesn’t have to be legal—e.g., leadership roles in other industries welcome)

  • High energy, thrives in a fast-paced environment

  • Willingness to work in office in Cranston, RI for the first 3 months; after that, the role becomes fully remote with ongoing in-person court appearances as needed

Compensation:

  • Base salary: $85,000 – $105,000

  • Bonus: Based on settlement fees generated (earnings of $150K–$200K expected within 12–18 months)

  • Additional compensation: If you grow and lead the department, you will be eligible for a sizable bonus based on the department’s overall performance (equal to or greater than base salary)
