Foundry Helper Position

1st Shift (5:00am-1:30pm) M-F

Duties and responsibilities :

• Set up flasks and equipment

• Prepares casting to go down the line , dig out place for risers, insert cores etc.

• Operates all molding machines, rollover , large and small floor stations, squeezer and jolt machines

• Operates saw to remove risers.

• Operates belt sander.

• Operates Muller Sand System Machine.

• Supplies flasks to the molding stations as required.

• Shakes out the molds, returns the flasks and bottom boards to the molding stations.

• Knocks out the core from the castings on the shake out machine if casting core remains,

• Responsible for picking up chills and stacking them in the proper storage after they have been cooled off.

• Produces cores free of defects, to avoid rework.

• Makes own set-ups for core machine.

• Mountains all equipment in good working order

• Cleans and inspects all casting until free of defects before they are released to the Machine shop.

• Operates sand blast machine to clean castings after removal of gates and risers

• Removes cores from castings

• Performs other duties as requested by lead person or supervisor

Requirements:

• Experience with steel and/or aluminum a plus
• Machine Shop Experience
• Bilingual: English & Spanish
