Job Details

We are seeking a detail-oriented, experienced bookkeeper -- ideally retired or semi-retired -- to help prepare monthly profit-and-loss (P&L) statements for our growing retail business. Work will be remote but our company is headquartered in Blauvelt, NY and someone residing in the NYC Metropolitan Area is preferred. SALARY WILL BE COMMENSURATE WITH EXPERIENCE.

Our company operates:

8 physical retail stores, 1 e-commerce store, 1 management company

The goal is to generate accurate, timely monthly financials and provide occasional bookkeeping support for our management team.

Key Responsibilities

• Compile monthly P&L statements for each store and online operation

• Reconcile key accounts (bank, merchant services, sales tax, etc.)

• Track expenses, returns, vendor bills

• Coordinate with owner or staff to clarify missing data

• Use accounting and payroll software (Lightspeed/ADP)

• Provide basic variance analysis or trend flags

Requirements

• 5+ years of bookkeeping experience (multi-location retail a plus)

• Proficient with Lightspeed, ADP, Excel/Google Sheets

• Comfortable working independently and remotely

• Strong attention to detail

• Prior experience managing monthly reports across multiple units

Preferred

• Experience with Lightspeed POS systems

• CPA or full-charge bookkeeping background

• Retired accountant/bookkeeper seeking flexible part-time work
