About the Role:
We are seeking a highly skilled Attorney to join our team in New Haven. As a Trial Attorney, you will be responsible for providing legal advice and representation to clients in a variety of Plaintiff Personal Injury matters. You will be expected to conduct legal research, draft legal documents, and represent clients in court proceedings. The successful candidate will have a strong understanding of legal principles and procedures, as well as excellent communication and analytical skills. They will be self-motived and have a strong desire for beating the opponent and restoring justice for their client.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Juris Doctor degree from an accredited law school
- Admission to the state bar
- Minimum of 3 years of experience practicing law specifically in Plaintiff Personal Injury
- Strong understanding of legal principles and procedures
- Excellent communication and analytical skills
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in litigation and trial advocacy
- Experience in negotiating settlements
- Experience in drafting legal documents
- Experience in providing legal advice and representation to clients
- Experiencing managing large, complex cases from inception to resolution
- Experience understanding business metrics and extrapolating data for performance improvement
- Experience leading a small team of assistants and paralegals
- Experience using a case management system
Responsibilities:
- Provide legal advice and representation to clients in a variety of Personal Injury matters
- Conduct legal research and analysis
- Draft legal documents, including pleadings, motions, and trial prep
- Represent clients in court proceedings, including trials and hearings
- Negotiate settlements on behalf of clients
- Attend weekly meetings
- Understand goals and progress to goals as well as communicate with leadership regarding projections
- Maintain professionalism at all times
- Represent the firm outside of the office at various social events, including fund raisers and career centers
- Utilize case management tools, reporting and data in daily tasks
Skills:
As an Attorney, you will be using your legal expertise to provide advice and representation to clients in a variety of Personal Injury matters. You will be using your analytical skills to conduct legal research and analysis, and your communication skills to draft legal documents and represent clients in court proceedings. You will speak regularly with your cleint to manage expectations and keep them informed of their case progress. Your negotiation skills will also be utilized in negotiating settlements. Additionally, you will be expected to have a strong understanding of legal principles and procedures, and to stay up-to-date with changes in the law and legal precedents.
