About the Role:

As a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) in our Health Care Services team, you will play a crucial role in providing high-quality patient care in a variety of settings. Your primary responsibility will be to assist registered nurses and physicians in delivering comprehensive medical services to patients, ensuring their comfort and well-being. You will be expected to monitor patient health, administer medications, and document patient progress accurately. This position offers flexibility, allowing you to work on a PRN basis, as well as full-time or part-time hours, catering to your availability. Ultimately, your contributions will directly impact the quality of care our patients receive, making a significant difference in their health outcomes.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Current LPN license in the state of Kentucky.
- Completion of an accredited practical nursing program.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in a healthcare setting, particularly in long-term care or rehabilitation.
- Certification in IV therapy.
- Knowledge of electronic health record (EHR) systems.
Responsibilities:
- Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by physicians.
- Monitor and record patient vital signs and health status.
- Assist in the development and implementation of patient care plans.
- Provide emotional support and education to patients and their families.
- Collaborate with healthcare team members to ensure optimal patient care.
Skills:
The required skills for this position include strong clinical assessment abilities, which will be utilized daily to monitor patient conditions and respond to changes effectively. Excellent communication skills are essential for interacting with patients, families, and the healthcare team, ensuring that everyone is informed and involved in the care process. Time management skills will be critical as you balance multiple patient needs and prioritize tasks throughout your shift. Additionally, proficiency in basic nursing procedures and familiarity with medical equipment will be necessary for administering treatments and conducting assessments. Preferred skills, such as experience with EHR systems, will enhance your ability to document patient information accurately and efficiently, contributing to seamless care coordination.
