Job Title: Super Tech / Sr. Field Engineer
Location: Fort Morgan, CO (100% Field-Based, Travel Required)
Employment Type: Contract through end of 2026
Overview:
A leading telecommunications company is seeking a Super Tech / Sr. Field Engineer to join its high-performance networks team. This hybrid field engineering role is tailored for technicians who can independently manage commissioning, integration, and RF validation in rural/remote environments. You’ll be the key point of execution for site readiness, minimizing delays between construction and network activation.
Key Responsibilities:
Execute end-to-end site commissioning and integration
Perform light troubleshooting (fiber, CSR, transport layer)
Conduct basic RF call testing and post-commissioning mobility checks
Coordinate remotely with commissioning teams
Support installations and site migrations (including under live power conditions)
Manage RMA processes and provide daily status updates
Interface with internal teams and external stakeholders
Required Skills and Experience:
Strong migration and commissioning background (Top Priority)
Central Office installation experience (rack mounting, ladder racks)
Exposure to high-power installs (up to 200 amps)
Able to work independently in low or no coverage areas
Experience with RF testing, fiber troubleshooting, IP protocols is a plus
Familiarity with routers like Cisco CSR/IXR is an advantage
Knowledge of 4G/5G deployment, mmWave, and Sub-6 GHz preferred
Certifications:
No strict requirements, but COEI Level 3 or 4 experience preferred
OSHA certification and PPE compliance required
Toolkit & Logistics:
Technician must own a full-size 4x4 vehicle (mandatory due to rural sites)
Must be equipped for field internet access (dual eSIM, Starlink, etc.)
Company will provide a standardized field tech toolkit and job checklist
Travel Expectations:
100% travel across Eastern Colorado and Nebraska
Technicians will be assigned to regional clusters
Extended stays near remote sites may be required
Interview Focus Areas:
Proven troubleshooting in low/no-coverage environments
Live power installation safety and experience
Clear, concise remote communication
Practical, field-based problem-solving skills
Ideal Background:
10–15+ years in telecom field engineering or network deployment
Strong hands-on experience with LTE/5G technologies and vendor equipment
Familiarity with Accuver tools (XCAL, XCAP), GIS, and mapping tools is helpful
CBRS, CPI Certification, or Samsung LTE/5G experience is a plus
Note: This is a field-intensive role, not remote. Candidates must be comfortable working in isolated environments with limited external support and capable of managing tasks independently.
