Our client is looking for a Plant Manager in the surrounding Grand Rapids, MI area.

We are seeking an experienced, results-driven Plant Manager to oversee daily operations of our manufacturing facility. This leadership role requires a hands-on, strategic professional who can manage resources, ensure product quality, and drive continuous improvement across production, safety, and employee development.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage all plant operations, including production, maintenance, quality, and logistics.
  • Develop and execute plans to increase efficiency, reduce costs, and meet production targets.
  • Ensure compliance with safety, environmental, and quality standards (e.g., OSHA, ISO).
  • Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and implement corrective actions as needed.
  • Collaborate with HR to recruit, train, and develop high-performing teams.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives using Lean, Six Sigma, or similar methodologies.
  • Prepare and manage plant budgets; oversee capital expenditures.
  • Maintain effective communication with senior management and other departments.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business Management, Industrial Technology, or related field (Master’s preferred).
  • Minimum 7+ years of experience in plant or operations management in a manufacturing environment.
  • Proven leadership experience with a track record of achieving operational excellence.
  • Strong understanding of production planning, inventory management, and maintenance systems.
  • Familiarity with ERP systems (e.g., Acumatica, SAP, Oracle).
  • Excellent problem-solving, communication, and organizational skills.

Preferred Skills:

  • Lean manufacturing or Six Sigma certification (e.g., Green or Black Belt)
  • Experience with automation and process optimization
  • Strong financial acumen and P&L management
  • Experience organizing teams
