SUMMARY

Alaska Industrial Hardware, a subsidiary of Bering Straits Native Corporation is currently seeking a qualified Repair Technician employee for its Tool Repair Center. This is a short-fill position and looking to hire immediately.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Assure proper customer service is given to every customer; primary customer facing employee for the Repair Center
  • Prepare company required reports on labor and equipment repairs.
  • Use the computer system to input track and invoice equipment to be repaired
  • Perform the Repair Center cycle counts
  • Perform all repairs on heaters, pressure washers, nail guns, chainsaws and other equipment as required
  • Research and Order parts

QUALIFICATIONS - EXPERIENCE, EDUCATION AND CERTIFICATION

Required (Minimum) Qualifications

  • Must be 18 years or older
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Experience with TWL and/or Atlas ERP system , Excel and Word

KNOWLEDGE, SKILS AND ABILITIES

  • Must possess a basic knowledge of tools and equipment and had some hands-on operational experience with most of the tools we repair (Chainsaws, Nail Guns, Pressure Washers, Heaters, Air Compressors…) providing the ability to communicate required repairs clearly/confidently with customers
  • Must possess a good mechanical aptitude, previous mechanical experience a plus
  • Communicate effectively in English both verbally and in writing
  • Read and comprehend written material relative to the position.
  • Possess a sense of responsibility and pride in work
  • Possess the proper situational awareness to work safely in a repair center environment
  • Follow all safety rules and procedures and properly use all safety gear
  • Ability to perform basic arithmetic operations—addition, subtraction, multiplication, division and differentiate quantities and units of measure
  • Ability to follow directions from supervisors and seek assistance when needed
  • Ability to work well and clearly communicate with others in a small workspace
  • Legible handwriting

PREFERRED

  • Retail / customer service experience
  • Previous Repair work experience

As a condition of employment, may be required to pass a pre-employment drug screening, as well as have acceptable reference and background check results to obtain access to military base. Must have reliable transportation to/from work a necessity and must be able to obtain access to military installations.
