Construction Mechanics Inc is seeking a skilled tradesperson that can install and repair terrazzo surfaces like floors, countertops, and staircases. Work with a mixture of cement, marble chips, and other aggregates to create durable and decorative surfaces.

Responsibilities:

•Installation:

Install terrazzo according to blueprints or other instructions, ensuring proper adhesion and leveling.

•Repair:

Repair damaged terrazzo surfaces, patching and restoring them to their original condition.

•Finishing:

Finish the terrazzo surface, grinding and polishing it to achieve the desired look and texture.

•Material Handling:

Handle and store materials, including cement, aggregates, and marble chips.

•Cleaning:

Clean finished surfaces to remove debris and ensure a smooth, even finish.

•Safety:

Follow safety procedures and regulations when working with tools and materials.

Skills and Knowledge:

•Technical Skills:

A strong understanding of terrazzo techniques, including mixing, pouring, leveling, and finishing.

•Physical Stamina:

Requiring lifting heavy materials and working in various positions.

•Problem-Solving:

Able to diagnose and fix issues that may arise during installation or repair.

•Communication:

Communicate effectively with clients and other tradespeople.

Tools and Equipment:

•Grouting tools: For filling the joints between terrazzo tiles.

•Grinders and polishing tools: For leveling and polishing the terrazzo surface.

•Measuring tools: For accurate installation and repair.

•Mixing equipment: For preparing the terrazzo mix.

•Safety equipment: Including gloves, masks, and eye protection.
