We are currently serving communities in Spartansburg (PA), Warren (PA), Sugar Grove (PA), Busti (NY), Panama (NY), and Sherman (NY). Our commitment to providing fast, reliable, and respectful transport for urgent needs, scheduled appointments, and business employee travel is just the beginning as we plan to expand our vital services to Amish communities across the entire nation.

This is an independent contractor (1099) position. As such, drivers are responsible for providing their own well-maintained vehicle and must carry their own commercial auto insurance, providing proof of coverage upon onboarding. This role offers the flexibility of managing your own schedule while partnering with us to serve the community.

As an Independent Contractor Driver with Amish Emergency Transport, you'll be a crucial part of our expanding network. We're building teams of 10 drivers per zone to ensure comprehensive coverage and support for the communities we serve.

Job Description

As an Emergency Amish Driver, you will be responsible for safely and promptly transporting members of the Amish community to various destinations. This role requires flexibility, strong navigational skills, and a deep understanding and respect for Amish culture and traditions. You will be a crucial part of ensuring timely and dependable service, whether it's a planned trip or an urgent, last-minute request.

Responsibilities

• Adhere to all traffic laws and safety regulations.

• Maintain vehicle cleanliness and perform basic vehicle checks.

• Communicate effectively and respectfully with passengers and dispatch.

• Follow dispatch instructions precisely, including multi-stop routes.

• Maintain a professional and courteous demeanor at all times.

• Be available for scheduled and on-call shifts, including nights and weekends as needed.

Qualifications

• Valid Driver's License with a clean driving record.

• Proven experience in safe and reliable driving.

• Excellent knowledge of roads and navigation within the designated service areas (Spartansburg, Warren, Sugar Grove, Busti, Panama, Sherman, and surrounding regions).

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

• Demonstrated respect for Amish culture, traditions, and values is essential.

• Ability to handle urgent or time-sensitive situations calmly and efficiently.

• Flexibility in scheduling.

• Must be able to pass a background check and driving history check.

Compensation

• Non-Emergency Hourly Rate: $25.00 Per Hour

• Urgent / Last-Minute Hourly Rate: $40.00 Per Hour

• Mileage Rate (Passenger Trip): $0.50 Per Mile

• Dead Head Mileage Rate (One Way): $0.50 Per Mile

• Wait Charge: $10.00 Per Hour

• Specific rates apply based on booking type (Non-Emergency: booked 24+ hours ahead; Urgent/Last-Minute: booked less than 24 hours ahead).

• Weekly rates available for qualified Business Employee Travel.

This monthly fee helps us run our dispatch effectively and provides you with access to our dedicated app. The app allows you to seamlessly view your assigned routes, see real-time changes, monitor pickups, stops, and drop-offs, and manage your billing.
