Job Details

The Senior Accountant plays a key part in maintaining the integrity of financial reporting and supporting the organization’s overall financial health. Responsibilities include executing a broad range of accounting tasks such as journal entries, account reconciliations, month-end close activities, and preparation of financial statements. The Senior Accountant will collaborate across departments to ensure accounting accuracy, support audit processes, and contribute to process improvement initiatives. This role requires a high level of accuracy, strong analytical skills, and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment. The Senior Accountant will also serve as a resource and mentor to junior accounting staff.

Primary Responsibilities

• Prepare and post journal entries, reconcile general ledger accounts, and maintain supporting documentation.
• Lead month-end and year-end close processes, ensuring timely and accurate financial reporting.
• Prepare financial statements in accordance with GAAP.
• Analyze variances and trends in financial data to identify discrepancies or areas of improvement.
• Coordinate with AP and payroll departments to ensure data accuracy and completeness.
• Support external CPA review by preparing schedules and responding to inquiries.
• Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and internal financial reporting.
• Maintain internal controls and recommend improvements to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
• Support special projects and implementations, including new systems or reporting requirements.
• Mentor and provide support to junior accounting team members.
• All other duties as directed by MOS Leadership.

Education

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or a related field required.
• CPA designation preferred

Experience

• Minimum of 3 years of accounting experience required
• Healthcare industry experience preferred
