Moonlighter FabLab is a 501(c)3 Non-Profit S.T.E.A.M. Learning Center and Fabrication Lab in Miami Beach, FL. empowering makers with the skills, tools, and opportunities to shape a better future.

Moonlighter FabLab's mission is rooted in fostering creativity, innovation, and social impact within our community. As a part of our core team, the candidate will play a crucial role in carrying out our strategic initiatives, facilitating educational programs, and cultivating a culture of community stewardship and innovation at the space to help scale our organization's impact.

Roles & Responsibilities:

-Facilitating STEAM educational programming, hands-on learning, and introductions to making for children ages 7-12, High School, Collegiate, and adult continuing education.

-Preparation of pre-fabricated kits/educational materials for STEAM programs and community outreach events.

-Design new learning experiences or adjust current curriculum to meet learner's needs and lead educational programs independently when needed.

-Must have reliable transportation and be able to travel to multiple sites in South Florida including schools, community centers, museums, and other community outreach events.

-Other tasks include assisting students/members with their projects, maintaining/organizing workshop tools, equipment, and materials, and program planning.

-Must be able to carry up to 50 pounds of materials for loading and unloading/set up at various programs.

Ideal Candidate Qualifications:

-1-2 years experience working with children and/or education, preferably in a classroom or after-school setting;

- Experience implementing STEM/STEAM curriculum

- Exceptional interpersonal skills, and the ability to work both collaboratively and independently;

- Must be able to successfully pass fingerprinting and level II background check.

- Basic proficiency with Adobe Illustrator and a CAD design software: Either sketchup, tinkercad, Rhino, Fusion 360, Solidworks, or Autocad. Familiar with Scratch Coding, familiarity with Arduino and Raspberry Pi, Familiarity with 3D printers, Laser Cutters, and other fabrication equipment. Candidates will be trained in the above if not fully proficient.
