Job Summary: The Shop Leadman is responsible for overseeing heat treat, Hydro, paint, and shipping.

Essential Responsibilities:
• Communicate with shop employees and management about processes and provide tips on how to improve quality and work environment.
• Check the work of each employee to ensure quality and production is maintained.
• Maintain safe work procedures using scaffolds, ladders, cranes, man lifts, skates and other equipment according to prescribed protocols.
• Ability to knowledgeably and safely operate skates, cranes, and other equipment to move and position vessels.
• Coordinates with tool room clerk to ensure adequate supplies are available to the shift.
• Read and interpret engineering drawings.
• Assist with shipping supplies to ensure control of consumables for the shift.
• Notifies the tool room clerk and/or purchasing when supplies are needed.

Skills/Qualifications:
• High school diploma or equivalent
• Must have supervisor level experience in manufacturing environment
• Must have logistic understanding and rigging experience • Must have shop experience and be able to use basic power tools and heavy motor equipment if needed
• Must have basic computer skills for communication and creating spreadsheets or documents
• Must be able to read and understand blueprint drawings and have the ability to resolve issues
• Must understand and have some knowledge of the functions and rules in the heat treat process per ASME code
• Must understand and have some knowledge of the functions, rules and equipment of the hydrostatic pressure testing per ASME code
• Must understand and have some knowledge of the equipment and understand the process of Sandblasting and painting or Coating in general
• Must understand and have some knowledge in logistics. Which includes, reading, typing and understanding packing slips, items on bill of materials, and or but not limited to any other shipping duties
• Knowledge of basic safety practices
• Ability to effectively communicate and understand job instructions both verbally and written in English

Physical Requirements:
The ability to lift 50 pounds or more. Ability to perform essential duties, which require the employee to stand regularly, walk and reach with hands and arms while operating various pieces of equipment. Specific visual abilities require close vision, distance vision, color vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus to inspect quality of work and close measurements. Work in a high-pace manufacturing environment.
